Worth leaving Killarney for, when it suits the day
Kerry County Museum — Tralee
If the weather has collapsed completely or you are already going into Tralee, the museum is worth keeping in mind.
During the Ashe Memorial Hall restoration project, scheduled through 2026–2028, only the Medieval Experience and Archaeology Hall are currently open. That is exactly why I would check the museum's own website before making the journey specifically for it.
This is a slower wet afternoon rather than something you need to squeeze into a Killarney itinerary.
