PLACES TO LINGER
Not every Still Place needs to be ancient.
Sometimes what you need is a good cup of coffee, a corner where nobody minds if you stay longer than twenty minutes, a bookshop where you can browse properly or a small shop where the person behind the counter actually knows what they are selling.
We are keeping this list deliberately selective. A place does not go in here simply because it serves coffee or sells nice things. It needs to be somewhere we would genuinely send you when you have time to spare.
Cafés
Good coffee or tea. Somewhere comfortable to sit alone. Somewhere you can read, write or simply stay a while without feeling pushed back onto the street.
Bookshops
Independent, second-hand, local-interest or simply somewhere worth browsing slowly.
Antiques, craft & small shops
Not souvenir shops merely because they are in Killarney. Places with something worth looking at.
When it is raining and you don't particularly want to go home yet
